BEDS Road CC held their first Go Ride event of the year on Saturday, with the event attracting 35 riders.

The racing consisted of a one lap time trial followed by a cyclo cross race for each age group, the overall winners for each age category decided by combining the time trial and race results.

In the cycle cross races, Rosie Dunbar (BRCC) continues her good results with another win in the U8s.

Alex Russell (Team MK) paced his race well to finish ahead of older riders in the U10/U12 race, while the U14/U16 race saw Chris Lambton overhauled on the third lap as Icknield riders Eddie Kelly and Peter Lewis battled for the lead, with Kelly eventually winning.

In the local Interclub competition, BRCC were narrowly beaten into second place by one point by CC Ashwell.

Ashwell’s David Robinson won the overall, with the Simon Norman first of the home club’s riders in third. Liz Roots was first lady.

For the latest round of the Evening League there were some familiar finishing positions with James Stewart, Rachel Armstrong and Isaac Anstee all wining their mens, ladies and junior categories respectively.

All Beds Road athletes made the podium at the second round of the Silverstone Duathlon series. Jason Moore took second, from Phil Holland in third, while Emily Robertson was first lady.
