Crow's off to a flier against Liverpool
Striker delighted with Hatters goal
Striker Danny Crow gave Luton fans an early glimpse of his goalscoring ability during Town's 3-0 win over a Liverpool XI on Tuesday night.
The forward, signed from Cambridge United during the summer, struck on the cusp of half time, finishing a lovely team move.
Crow, pictured scoring, was naturally pleased to be on target and felt his new side were good value for their triumph.
He said: "The lads knew we were in for a tough game, we all worked hard and I think deservedly won the game 3-0.
"We were solid, we were strong and put in a good performance. Although Liverpool were young, they're still good players and if you give them space, they will punish you. My goal came off my heel, but it was a good move and I was delighted to score."
It was a case of men against boys for the majority of the match, with Liverpool's first team preparing for a Europa League qualifier in Rabotnicki Skopje tonight (Thursday).
That meant there was no Steven Gerrard or Fernando Torres, as the likes of Victor Palsson and Andre Wisdom were given the chance to shine.
Hatters named a near-enough first-choice side, while Liverpool's youngsters looked overawed in the early stages and the only surprise was it took Luton 39 minutes to break them down as Matthew Barnes-Homer found the net from close range.
It was 2-0 moments before the half time whistle.
A storming run from Freddie Murray eventually saw the ball find it's way to Andy Drury and the former Stevenage man's cross was expertly tucked away by Crow.
After the break, Luton quickly had a third goal on 56 minutes, when Drury's deep free-kick was headed back by George Pilkington and Dan Gleeson bundled the ball over the line.
An impressed Hatters boss Richard Money said: "I'm not sure whether people in the stadium understand, but that same Liverpool team went to Oldham on Saturday and beat them 3-0.
"Even though there might not have been many familiar names on the teamsheet, there's a lot of internationals that they've paid a lot of money for.
"I thought we showed that we've got some quality ourselves and we got pretty much everything out of the game that we wanted."
Liverpool reserves boss John McMahon conceded his side were beaten by the better team.
He said: "Luton are a good side and we can have no complaints about the result.
"This was a really good test for our players and they know they have been in a game.
"It wasn't easy for them but they never stopped working and gave their all."
