CRICKET: Monty Panesar’s successful return to the international scene was one of the few pluses of England’s whitewash by Pakistan in Dubai.
England, who were number one in the world, lost all three matches to Pakistan.
Former Bedford Modern School and Luton Town & Indians left-arm spinner Panesar was making his international comeback after a gap of more than two years and performed superbly to claim 14 wickets in the two Tests he played.
Fellow bowler Stuart Broad said:” Monty Panesar’s return has been terrific and credit to county cricket for that because he has worked hard there and taken a lot of good wickets.”
