Cook serves up England one day win against Pakistan
CRICKET: England one day captain Alastair Cook led by example, scoring 137, as England put their Test series whitewash to Pakistan behind them with a 130-run win in the first one-day international in Abu Dhabi on Monday.
Former Bedford Schooler Cook was delighted to put the ‘frustrating’ Test series behind them as England posted 260-7 before bowling out Pakistan for 130. He said: “It’s been a hard tour, it’s been frustrating. We haven’t played to our potential but today showed what good players we have.”
And on what the difference was, he added: “I don’t know. It’s a different format. The pressure of men around the bat is gone.”
