City's records are expunged

Chester fail to lodge appeal

Chester City have had their Blue Square Premier record wiped from the record books.

Every team in the league has been affected by the decision, but Luton remained in fifth place before last night's home game against Forest Green.

They had 58 points from 32 games played, with anything still possible at the top.

The expulsion of Chester brought top two Oxford and Stevenage closer to the Hatters, but the play-off positions remained heavily congested ahead of last night's fixtures.

Luton lost two points from their total, after twice being held to goalless draws by Chester, while all the goals City scored and conceded have also been removed from the standings.
