Boast and Bergin set for 2012
Bedford & County AC athletes Suzi Boast and Matt Bergin are looking forward to an exciting summer on the track in.
The athletes started 2012 with an action-packed Aviva-sponsored ‘On Camp with Kelly’ Get-Together at Tonbridge School, benefiting from some valuable advice from their mentor, double Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes.
Boast, 21, and Bergin, 18, took part in a weekend of intensive training including circuit training, aqua-jogging, Pilates and a running session.
The athletes were able to set out personal goals for the year and reflect on 2011, focusing on both the successes and where there could be room for improvement.
Boast, who has been part of ‘On Camp with Kelly’ since 2007, said: “I have been injured so my goal for the year really is to get a full season in, I will be happy with that. It’s going well so far!”
Bergin, who was invited to the Get-Together by Dame Kelly after taking part in her ‘Future Stars with Kelly’ initiative, added: “To date I have had most success at 3,000m so in 2012 I want to improve my 800m and 1,500m and maybe give 5,000m a go!”
