Blues and Rokermen go through in Tuesday's county cup ties

Waders win, United lose while Reds are frozen off

ArleseY Town earned their place in the semi-final of the Beds FA Senior Cup tonight (Tuesday) after beating Zamaretto Premier Division side Bedford Town 5-1 in extra time at Hitchin Road.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes, Nathan Frater opened the scoring four minutes into the new half but the Eagles were level through Ian Draycott ten minutes from time.

With the tie going into an extra 30 minutes, Ernesto Sinclair put the Blues ahead in the 115th minute, Dom Masala then netting a third while Craig Renholds made it 4-1 in the 124th minute before Sinclair rounded off the nap hand a minute later with his second.

And at Sharpenhoe Road, Stotfold also booked their place in the semi-final of the Beds Senior Cup thanks to an 88th minute own goal by a Barton defender.

The Rokermen went 1-0 up through Jamie Osbourne after 17 minutes while former Stotfold striker levelled on the stroke of half time.

And it was Mason again from the penalty spot 20 minutes from time before the visitors were also awarded a spot kick from which Stuart Lochhead made it 2-2 two minutes laer.

However with just two minutes remaining, a free kick from Josh Bickerstaff was deflected into the Barton net off a defender's head so Stotfold went through 3-2.

There was anger and frustration at Forde Park where Langford were due to host Leighton Town in the quarter-final of the Beds FA Senior Cup after match referee Lee Forester deemed it unplayable at 7.10pm.

Biggleswade Town booked their place in the semi-final of the Hinchingbrooke Cup with a 2-1 win against Yaxley in a game best forgotten, the Waders needing two later goals to overcome their United Counties League visitors.

The Cuckoos took the lead with just ten minutes left through Ondre Odane but Liam Folds manage to level five minutes later, Jamie Steele then bagging that all important winner a minute from time.

And at Second Meadow in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division, Biggleswade United found themselves 2-0 down at half time following a Leverstock Green first half double courtesy of Lewis Prtichard and while Sean Murray pulled one back in the 71st minute, the visitors snatched a third through Gary Connelly with nine minutes left.
