Kelly Attwood and her horse Bouncer won the Royal Windsor Show British Riding Club Topscore Jumping Competition.

The Year 11 Bedford Modern School pupil said: “Bouncer was a real superstar and rose to the occasion as we won by over 200 points.”

Attwood, 15, from Willington, also came first in the Junior Intermediate One-Day event qualifier for the British Riding Club held at Ely Eventing Centre on May 27 – the third year she has won the event.

Last Sunday she competed at The National Festival Of The Horse finishing fifth in the teams and seventh individually.

“The wet conditions made the course very challenging with fences exceeding 1.30m, but Bouncer took it all in his stride and was one of the only double clears over the whole day despite being one of the smallest ponies competing,” Attwood said.

On Thursday, Attwood finished second at the Wellingborough Show on Maxi the Taxi in the 85cm class. She then jumped all three horses/ponies in the 95cm class and they all went double clear with Bouncer finishing third.

In the 1.05m class, Bouncer finished in second place, resulting in qualification for the final.

Angie Pollard, founding Equestrian Club Co-Ordinator at Modern, added: “Kelly has been a loyal and keen supporter of equestrian activities at BMS throughout her years in the senior school. She is a first class rider as well as good at helping to motivate and organise others.”
