Lidlington beat Old Bradwell II by four wickets to stay at the top of Division Six.

Put into bat, Old Bradwell were soon in trouble, losing three wickets without scoring in the first three overs.

But the damage was repaired with an attacking partnership of 129 by Vinod Taylor (41) and Swasik Mohanty (71).

Deeptarka Ray (35) and Huzaisah Ahmed (17) continued the attacking mode before Lidlington’s bowlers eventually dismissed Old Bradwell for 208. Mike Eames (3-29), Hamayun Shahid (3-38) and David Whitfield (3-53) were the main wicket takers.

Needing 209 off 53 overs, Lidlington soon lost an early wicket. But, with captain Steve Swann holding up one end, John Richardson (19) and Nadeem Ahmed (27) kept the runs coming.

At three wickets down, young Luke Richardson and Steve Swann built a 91-run partnership before opener Swann was run out in the 46th over for a match-winning 88. Richardson went on to hit the winning runs for a fine unbeaten 43.
