Bedford PAC

Rising star Nathan Edgell, from Dorset, will be talking about his river 20-pounders amongst other things at the Bedford PAC’s next meeting at 7.30pm on Wednesday, January 16.

As usual, there will be tackle available and a ‘bring and buy’ sale.

Entry is £3 for PAC members and £4 for everyone else and the event takes place at The Wingfield Club, 37 Church Street, Ampthill, MK45 2PL.

Bedford Winter League

The Bedford Winter League was fished on the Grand Union Canal at Wolverton on Sunday.

Winning team was Popletts with 31 points, followed by Parsons Barn on 25, Kempston Liberal Club, 23, Marston Group, 21, Team Loire, 17, and Royal Oak Kempston, nine.

Individual winner was Mick Burrell of Popletts with 4lb 4oz 0dr, M Morgan from Team Loire was runner-up with 3lb 9oz and Roger Asplin (Kempston Liberal Club) third with 3lb 2oz.

Popletts currently lead the league with 15 points, followed by Marston Group, 14, Parsons Barn, 14, Kempston Liberal Club, nine, Team Loire, eight, and Royal Oak Kempston, three.
