AFC Dunstable duo net England tirals
Youngsters selected for national team
England hopefuls Danny Evans and Liam Leishman have been selected for trials to represent the partially-sighted national football team.
The pair are part of AFC Dunstable's disability section and will take part in the trials at Lilleshall.
Evans, 13, a pupil at Stopsley High School in Luton, and Leishman, 15, a student at Weatherfield School in Dunstable, were identified by the Bedfordshire FA's Les Dedman while playing for AFC Dunstable.
They were recommended to Northampton Town's Disability Centre of Excellence, and have now progressed through to the national trials.
AFC coaches Danny Roberts and Stephen Quirke have worked with the boys for a number of years and are hoping they will be successful.
Roberts said: "Both lads have progressed really well, both on and off the pitch, since joining the club, and this is a fully deserved honour to be selected for England trials, whatever the level, and it's great that they have a lot of support, not only from their familes, but their schools as well.
"All at the club wish them well on their trials, as it would be great to have two England internationals associated with AFC Dunstable."
