Young dancer joins the stars for Sleeping Beauty

A talented young dancer from Flitwick is busy in rehearsals for a leading theatre production of Sleeping Beauty.

Lauren Ash, 17, a member of the Bedfordshire School of Dance and Drama, will be performing with international dancers at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage in a show presented by English Youth Ballet.

The Redbourne Upper School pupils made it through auditions held at the theatre which attracted more than 200 hopefuls.

The ballet will star principal dancers Amy Drew, Adele Robbins, Monica Tapiador, Richard Read, Brenden Bratulic, Oliver Speers and Steven Wheeler. All the soloist and corps de ballet roles in the production will be performed by 100 of the finest dancers aged 8 to 18 from across the region.

Sleeping Beauty is stage from October 15-17 at 7.30pm, with a matinee at 2.30pm on the final day.
