A sea of colour has appeared in the streets of Ampthill and Flitwick in preparation for this weekend’s Fibre East event.
Knitters have been toiling for months to make the ‘yarn storm’ which includes bunting and gifts for shops and wool-wrapped trees.
An event spokeswoman said: “Collecting the items has been a real community event with a number of schools, societies and organisations donating their time and effort.”
The two-day fibre festival has at its core a celebration for the British wool industry and associated crafts. It is also hosting craft workshops, including spinning and weaving.
Fibre East is at Redborne School, Ampthill, on Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, 10am to 4.30pm. For tickets go to www.fibre-east.co.uk
