A woman’s bag was snatched as she walked along a Bedford road with her son.

The thief approached the pair from behind along Ford End Road at around 8pm on Wednesday, February 18 and grabbed the bag, which contained Indian jewellery.

He was chased by a local shop worker but escaped in a 64 plate silver Vauxhall Astra that was waiting around the corner.

Det Con Luke Moore said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the robbery, or where the offenders went afterwards, to call police.”

Anyone who may have seen the incident or with any information are asked to contact Det Con Moore on 101, text 07786 200 011, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 11.
