Woman had dress lifted up in assault on Sunday afternoon in town centre

An 18-year-old woman was indecently assaulted near the parade of shops in Greyfriars, Bedford.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after the incident which took place at about 2.15pm on Sunday, June 22.

The incident happened as the victim walked between a block of flats and the parade of shops in Greyfriars.

A man, described as white but with a dark complexion, possibly Eastern European, between 35 – 40 years old, with a slim build and black receding hair, wearing a blue and white striped top, lifted the victim’s dress up to expose her bottom.

The victim confronted the offender and he ran from the scene towards Brace Street.
