Police are appealing for help following an armed robbery at a bookmakers in Kempston.

A man described as black, around 6ft and skinny, threatened two shop workers with a knife before making off with cash from the tills after the hold-up at Coral in Bedford Road at 9.45pm on Friday (Oct 16).

The offender is described as being in his early 20s, with short black hair and a goatee beard. He was wearing a black hooded top.

PC Ben Stone, investigating, said: “We believe this to be an isolated incident, which was understandably terrifying for the shop staff.

“I would be keen to speak to anyone who was in the bookmakers shortly before this time, as we believe the offender waited for other customers to leave before his attack. Any information could help us find the person responsible and bring them to justice.”

Call PC Stone on 101 with information, or alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
