A newly-wed couple returned home from their wedding to find their home had been burgled and their car stolen.

The couple discovered their house in Bedford Road, Kempston, had been broken into at 11.40pm on Saturday (May 16).

Their black Volkswagen Golf, registration LT07 KGY, had been stolen along with cash, jewellery, an iPhone 4S and an iPad.

The couple had left the home at 2.15pm.

Det Con Surinder Ram said: “This obviously was an awful end to what had been a special day for the couple.

“I would urge anyone who has any information about the break-in, or knows of the whereabouts of the car, to call police.”

Anyone with any information should call DC Ram on 101, text 07786 200 011, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
