A housing development in Silsoe has been highly commended in industry awards.

The Bloor Homes site at Silsoe Grange was named one of the developments of the year for the south in the 51+ units category at The Bricks 2015 – awards for the housebuilding industry.

Organised by LABC Warranty, The Bricks celebrate the hard work of developers who go the extra mile to deliver the highest quality in construction and design.

Developers must demonstrate high standards in technical competency and build quality, as well as excellent organisational skills and customer service.

Silsoe Grange is a development of three, four and five-bedroom properties located on the southern fringes of the village.

Vanessa Macnee, regional sales director for Bloor Homes, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award. At Bloor we pride ourselves on building homes of the highest quality, so it means a lot to be recognised by the judges in this way.

“We’re extremely proud of Silsoe Grange and the way it has integrated into Silsoe itself. It’s a great achievement to be highly commended for this award and a real testament to the hard work and professionalism of our team.”

A total of 30 developments were shortlisted for awards from 3,000 eligible sites.

To qualify, developments must be covered by an LABC Warranty and have been inspected across most stages of the build by LABC Warranty Risk Management.

Nominations were put forward from September last year, and shortlisted sites were inspected over the summer, prior to the final round of judging last month.

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony held at the One Embankment events venue in London, and hosted by TV presenter Alexander Armstrong.

Mike Swatton, LABC Warranty Business Development Director and Head Judge commented: “The standard of the nominees across the board has been unprecedented, once again raising the bar for next year.”
