A football team in Wootton will be holding a charity game this weekend to raise funds for a disabled Kempston girl.

The village football team are playing a charity match on Saturday, May 10, at the Fox and Duck, Wootton, for six-year-old Lois Ella Russell who has severe cerebal palsy, is registered blind, has a hearing impairment and feeds through a stomach tube.

Her father Stuart Russell says: “She’s amazing. The doctors said she would never smile but she can. Her smile lights up a room.

“It’s great that my teammates help with fundraising.”

Kick-off is at 2.30pm. There will also be a bouncy castle, penalty shoot out, raffle and barbecue.

All funds will go towards a customised sun canopy and rain cover for Lois’s wheelchair.
