Hair dresser to the stars, Lee Stafford, visited a Bedford salon to train staff in the latest cuts and styles.
Award-winning Lee, who appeared on Celebrity Scissorhands, was demonstrating a cut called The Squeeze to the girls at the 5th Avenue Salon.
As they practised on plastic heads he helped them prepare the hair for cutting in layers for a long, but modern look.
He said: “It is important to take time to get the cut perfect. Once you can create the style, you can work on doing it quicker.
“The cut suits women of any age, with any hair type, from a secretary to a rock star.”
The masterclass was organised by salon owner and director Kerry Cash who believes in providing ongoing training.
She said: “We are thrilled to have Lee here. We’ve always invested in the team, and that’s how we got him to come to Bedford.
She added: “Customers want more for their money, and its important to show them we are proactive.
“And a training session like this keeps things fresh for the girls. What they are learning is something they can use in everyday life.”
Next year the salon is taking staff to Las Vegas and Los Angeles for ‘more training with the stars’.
The Howard Street salon recently celebrated 17 years in business with a make-over of the shop front. Kerry said: “As well as keeping our clients beautiful, we wanted to make sure we keep Bedford beautiful.”
