Updated police appeal following fresh information about serious cycle accident

Bedfordshire Police has updated its appeal for information surrounding a road incident in which a man was seriously injured.

The incident involving a man on a bicycle happened at around 9.45am on Saturday, May 9, along Brickhill Drive at the roundabout with Kestrel Road in Bedford.

Cyclist Balraj Bhangle, better known as Bali, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and needed emergency surgery to remove his spleen.

PC Anthony Pinchback from the Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire road policing unit said: “Since we issued our first appeal for information we have had a number of witnesses come forward, and we have now eliminated the driver of a small red car from our enquiries.

“We are now keen to speak to those travelling in a silver Mercedes in the area at the time, as they may have information which can assist our investigation into what happened.”
