Union J, the group which shot to fame after appearing on the X-Factor two years ago, will be in Bedford’s Morrisons to sign copies of their latest single and album.

Despite finishing only fourth in the series, which was eventually won by James Arthur, the band has enjoyed a steady rise to stardom.

Josh Cuthbert, George Shelley, JJ Hamblett and Jaymi Hensley are stopping-off in Morrisons as part of a country-wide tour of branches of the grocers to meet fans and coincides with the release of their second album, You Got It All.

Jaymi said: “We loved our first album and are so lucky to be able to release another one. This record will hopefully put us up there with the biggest and best boybands around.”

JJ added: “This time around we’ve had much more involvement in the album. We’ve spent hours and hours in writing sessions. It’s exciting to be able to contribute so much, we feel really involved.”

And as well as having more input to their sound, the boys are taking control of their look.

Jaymi has decided to shave off his hair, refuse to cover his tattoos, and be open about his engagement to his long-term boyfriend.

He said: “We used to try and hide my tattoos, but now it’s time to show them off. We don’t want to dress up in matching outfits or wear make-up.

“I got engaged before I was in the band but after I came out it was decided I wasn’t going to talk about it. But I don’t care what people think anymore.”

Josh added: “We want people to get to know us individually. So we’re going to let our own natural styles come out.”

Union J will be performing their latest single, also called You Got It All, on the X Factor, this Sunday (November 30), which features on the album.

George says: “Our songs on this record feel organic and real. They’re the sort of songs that you can still sing even when they’re completely stripped back.”

Union J will be at Morrisons, Ampthill Road, Bedford on Monday, December 8, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
