Bedfordshire Housing Link’s ‘Heroes House’, is in with a chance of winning up to &50,000 when it features on ITV People’s Millions on Monday.
Viewers will be asked to vote for Heroes House, or a charity which runs holidays for disbled children, with the winner bagging the cash.
During the show, a short film will be shown explaining how Bedfordshire Housing Link hopes to create a new home in Bedfordshire - Heroes House - to provide accommodation and support to homeless veterans, which make up about one-in-ten of all homless people.
The charity’s CEO Janet Prince said: “There is a real need for this project. We started a pilot project supporting veterans earlier this year and within weeks we had a waiting list of 15 veterans in crisis and in need of somewhere to live. We are desperate to help them before the cold winter starts.”
Ms Prince added: “There are so many deserving charities out there; we just hope we can convince the public that Heroes House deserves the funding on this occasion!”
