Staff from The Co-operative Travel shop in Bedford have been overwhelmed by the generosity of customers following an appeal to support disadvantaged families and children in the area.

The Co-operative Travel branch, in Harpur Street, launched its annual Christmas Gifts Appeal in November hoping to bring festive cheer to children and their families in the area and have been thrilled with the response.

Branch manager, Kevin Arnold, said: “This is the fifth year that we have asked customers and friends to help us fill Santa’s suitcase with gift items for disadvantaged families in the area. Once again we’ve not been disappointed and it’s wonderful to think of the difference that this will make to families supported by FACES, Bedford. We would like to thank our customers, members and friends for helping to make Christmas special for disadvantaged families in the area.”
