KAYAKING champion Richard Harpham is giving somebody the chance of a lifetime to join him on his next expedition.
Richard, who lives in Bedford, has kayaked thousands of miles across the world in various expeditions, and his next challenge is set to take him to New York.
He and kayak partner Glenn Charles are running a competition called The Spare Seat, giving people the chance to join them for three days.
This will then be followed by a two-night break in The Big Apple, courtesy of New York State, Division of Tourism, Delta Airlines and Travelbag.
Richard said: “We hope that this will inspire a great many people to explore their dreams, adventures and possibilities in their lives.
“Part of the intrigue of the Spare Seat is who will join, what will their stories be and how will the entire story end.”
The team is also offering runners-up prizes and they will have someone joining them every day through the challenge in the spare seat.
The New York State Spare Sea’ kayak expedition is an epic journey of more than 500 miles across New York State, from Niagra Falls, to the Statue of Liberty in New York. It is set to take place in the spring.
People wanting to take place should be available during May.
