Hi, I’m Sophie - your Bedford shopaholic! I’m proud of my town and do all my retail therapy in the town centre and around. And I want to share my secrets of the best buys with you. So every week I will be on a mission to hunt down a different item in Bedford. I’ll seek out a pound-stretching option for students and bargain hunters, a mid-range price to suit many wallets - and a luxury choice too.

My first challenge is - a pair of wellies. Best foot forward.

First up is Primark in the Harpur Centre. They are selling a range of snazzy colourful ones starting from just £10. If you’re just looking for a pair of funky wellies to see you through until the sun starts to shine through, they’ll be fine. If you are happy to spend a little bit more then pop down to Walberry’s in The Arcade. They are selling wedge wellies for people who want a bit of a heel for just £22.50, 50 per cent off their normal price.

And finally if you want to splash out on a pair of Hunters then Planet Clothing in The Arcade is the boutique for you. They currently have them selling for £79 with a further ten per cent off for the time being.
