SLIDESHOW: Good Friday outdoor church service

Event featured live music from Salvation Army and hot cross buns

The Easter message was delivered with songs of praise courtesy of the Salvation Army which helped organise the fifth annual Good Friday service in Bedford town centre.

The event combined prayers, readings, and live music from the Salvation Army band, while hot cross buns were handed out after the service.

The Rt Rev Christopher Herbert, Bishop of St Albans and Canon John Pedlar, vicar of St Paul's Church, Bedford, were among the speakers.

Major Ian Loxley, of the Salvation Army, said: "This is always an enjoyable way of bringing people together and this year was no exception."
