Annual event reutns to town
Kids who felt just a bit too far away from the coast this summer had the chance to mess around in the sand seaside style last week at Bedford By The Sea.
With pirate-themed highlights including Punch and Judy shows, workshops and face painting there was also a huge sandpit in the heart of Harpur Square, Bedford for four days last week.
Mayor of Bedford Dave Hodgson said: "Bedford's nearest beach is well over 70 miles away so we brought the beach to Bedford.
"Every day featured fun activities from sandcastle building to face painting.
"There was a great holiday atmosphere and lots of people came along to enjoy the summer sun."
