New skatepark in town is opened

YOUNGSTERS celebrated after a new skatepark was officially opened.

The new skatepark on Dunstable Road, Flitwick was officially opened by town mayor Ann Kelly last Wednesday, along with, leader of Central Bedfordshire Council James Jamieson

The skatepark has been made possible by funding from Central Beds Council and a group of young people who have been involved in the planning process.

In particular, Jordan Allen, received a thank you from the mayor with a certificate recognising his contribution as the chairman of the Skate 4 Life group.

Jordan said: “The skatepark project has been a real positive experience that I can take away for life.

“Fundraising for something you love to do is no chore. Seeing the opening of the park fills you with overwhelming achievement.

“ I have made new friends and reunited old ones, but seeing them happy all around you, that’s when the goal is finally reached.”

The park is now open to skaters of all ages.
