Charity run returns to Bedford
Russell Park was a sea of pink on Sunday when the Race for Life event came to town.
More than 4,000 women turned out to take part in a five kilometre or 10 kilometre run in aid of the Cancer Research UK charity.
And even though sponsorship money has not all been collected, the day is thought to have raised 294,000 so far.
Hayley Gunn-Barr, who coordinated the event on behalf of Cancer Research UK, said: "I am still on a massive high from it.
"It was amazing seeing so many women there for the same reason. there were costumes and face painting and all of our volunteers did a fantastic job.
"This is definitely the best event I have done so far because all of the money will be used so close to home to fund research in places such as Addenbrooke's.
"The whole day was absolutely wonderful and everyone had a lovely time."
