Celebrating the birth of Muhammad
Hundreds of worshippers gather in Bedford town centre
Muslims from across Bedford celebrated the birth of the prophet Muhammad on Saturday.
Hundreds of worshippers gathered in the town centre at midday to form a procession to the Westboure Road Mosque.
Councillor Mohammed Yasin, who joined the celebrations, said: "The atmosphere was brilliant and it went all through the town centre.
"Afterwards everyone gathered at the mosque where there were speeches about peace, happiness and love and particularly the peace, happiness and love that we have here in Bedford.
"Things in Queens Park are very good."
The event was organised as a partnership between Westbourne Road and Ford End Road mosques.
Worshippers attended Westbourne Road Mosque after the procession to listen to visiting religious speakers.
