Cadets meets the challenge

PIONEERING air cadets took on a river-crossing challenge this month.

Armed with poles, rope and metal stakes, cadets from 134 (Bedford) Squadron successfully crossed Harroden Brook, Bedford, using their own rope bridge.

Teams constructed two tripods on opposing banks before traversing the brook as part of a leadership and development exercise.

Warrant Officer Paul Taylor said: “The teams worked really well together to accomplish the task and the newer cadets who were present have gained a whole host of new skills that will stand them in good stead for the future.”
