Air Cadets’ medal haul
AIR cadets from Mid Beds proved themselves to be good sports when they returned home with a clutch of medals from a regional competition.
The 207 (Cranfield) Squadron took part in the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing Cross Country Championships in Cambridgeshire, and claimed first place in the Junior Girl category.
Stand-out performances included cadets Nicola Bint and Abi Jones who finished second and fifth among the Junior Girls competitors.
Flying Officer Matt Dolton RAFVR(T) said: “Once again the cadets have outdone themselves. All we ever ask of them is to turn up and represent their squadron so for them to come back with medals and an overall title is truly an achievement.
“To say I am proud of the cadets that have committed themselves and put in the effort to compete and the results speak for themselves.”
207 Squadron is currently recruiting staff new cadets from the age of 13-18. If you are interested in becoming a member call the squadron on 01234 752030, visit www.aircadets.org or call in at the headquarters in Merchants Lane, Cranfield between the times of 7.30-9.30pm on a Monday or Thursday evening.
