A group of violent men burst into a house twice in one night injuring three men, including throwing boiling water over one victim.

Officers were called to a multi-occupancy property in Iddesleigh Road, Bedford, at around 12.30am when three men, aged 31, 29 and 26, were left with facial injuries after they were attacked in their home by several offenders who then fled the area.

The 31-year-old also suffered a suspected broken arm during the assault.

At around 2.20am, officers were called to the property once again where one of the original victims, the 29 year old, had been seriously assaulted a second time.

Five offenders had entered the house and had poured boiling water over his chest and legs.

The victim also received a broken wrist in the assault.

Detective Constable Ian Johnson, who is investigating the incident, is keen to speak with anyone who was in the area and may have seen anything suspicious between midnight and 2.30am.

DC Johnson said: “These were very nasty attacks which have left the victims with very serious injuries. The victim who had boiling water poured over him has suffered scalding to almost 30 per cent of his body and will require skin grafts.

“While both of these assaults appear to have been targeted they were carried out by extremely violent people and I would urge anyone with information to get in contact with Bedfordshire Police.”

Two men were arrested in relation to the first assault and have been released on police bail.
