A pub has reopened its doors to punters after being closed for eight months and undergoing a £1.5million refurbishment.

The historic Grade 2 listed White Hart in Dunstable Street, Ampthill, is now part of Oakman Inns, which signed a 25 year lease with Punch Taverns last year.

It means the heritage of the former coaching Inn has been protected and enhanced under the makeover with many late 19th century and early 20th century building anomalies removed and some historic features reinstated. As part of these works, the Prince of Wales feathers mural above the old fireplace has been expertly restored.
