Teens attacked at skate park

Three teenagers were attacked with bats and chains in an assault at Fltwick Skate Park.

The incident took place at 1.15am on Thursday morning (July 22) in the Coniston Road skate park, when the 16-year-old boys were approached by a group of youths.

Bedfordshire Police are now appealing for witnesses following the attack.

There was a brief exchange of words between the teenagers and the group, the victims were then set upon with chains and bats and pulled to the ground.

One of the boys managed to struggle free and ran away.

During the confrontation the youths suffered cuts and bruises to their face and head although no further treatment was needed for the injuries.

Det Sgt Zoe Asbury, investigating, said the offenders were white, with a skinny build, about 17-years-old and wore dark clothing.

She is keen to speak to anyone who heard or saw the group hanging around or running from the area.

It is believed the group ran off towards the train station.

DS Asbury said: "This was a nasty assault and we are determined to find those responsible.

It's possible there was someone in the area who saw what happened and we would appeal to them to contact us."

Anyone with information relating can contact DS Asbury, in confidence, on 01582 473190, the main switchboard on 01234 841212, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or text 07786 200011.
