A woman from Queens Park is a winner when it comes to making people beautiful.

Veronika Holomanova was runner-up in the finals of the national Jane Iredale Make-up competition held at The Savoy Hotel, London. on Monday, June 15.

Pictured with Veronika, left, is Jane Iredale stockist Roxanne Lafratta of Kempston and Melissa Peacock of Bedford College, where the 30-year-old has been in training on a part-time course.

Melissa said: “She is so talented that I thought we must enter her for a competition and with the guidance of one of our former students Roxanne, in the special qualities of Jane Iredale cosmetics, she was one of only six to get through to the national finals.

“Hair and beauty is such a flexible career. People can join us for full-time, part-time or apprenticeship courses and progress on to working for a salon or spa, perhaps later working for themselves, as Roxanne has done with great success.

“It is a booming business world-wide and locally as hair and beauty treatments are something which women never give up, and young men are increasingly aware of the benefits of making the most of themselves.”
