The work and achievements of a Healthy Under 5s programme will be celebrated by social enterprise Community Dental Services CIC at an awards ceremony.

The programme – a public health initiative for pre-schools, nurseries and children’s centres – is now in its 17th year.

It aims to support healthy practices through advice on nutrition, oral health and phsyical activity.

The awards ceremony is set to take place at Wixam’s Lakeview Village Hall on Saturday, May 9.

Community Dental Services CIC was formed in 2011 and has a staff of 130 in 20 clinics across Bedfordshire, Suffolk and Norfolk. It also operates two mobile clinics for patients unable to travel to dental clinics at local health centres.

Delegates at this year’s awards ceremony will hear a talk from the chair of community dental services CIC, Sue Gregory, talk on optimising oral health with children, families and staff.’

In addition, a new Healthy Under 5s logo will be unveiled.
