An Albert Square street sign autographed by the entire cast of EastEnders has so far raised £400 at auction – and there’s still time to bid.
The charity lot – donated by Letitia Dean, better known as Sharon Mitchell in the BBC hit soap – is part of Greycourt Florists’ fundraising efforts in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.
The Bedford Road shop hosted its first pink ladies day on Friday, which was supported by local businesses and is set to become an annual event.
Florist owner Kelly Jeffries said: “It was fantastic, there was a real buzz all day long. I was really pleased. We had a really good flow of people all day long and some fabulous businesses came along to support us.”
Visitors could watch floristry demonstrations, including how to create a homemade Christmas garland, book in for pampering taster sessions, buy nearly new designer clothes, enjoy cakes and drinks and try their luck on the raffle.
The day alone raised £532 for the good cause and there’s still time to bid for the EastEnders street sign as the auction does not close until Friday, November 7.
