There were queues at the door for the eagerly awaited opening of Bedford’s new M&S Foodhall today (Wednesday).
A traditional ribbon cutting marked the occasion this morning with store manager Brendon Kelly doing the honours at the Interchange retail park.
One of the first customers through the doors was Tessa Norfolk, from Wootton. She said: “It is great to have a large Foodhall on the retail park that I can visit on a weekly basis. The store looks lovely inside with lots of different products, so it’s a huge bonus to have M&S just around the corner.”
The new shop offers the ‘Shop Your Way’ service, giving customers the choice of ordering from marksandspencer.com, in-store or online with the added benefit of free next day in-store delivery and collection.
Manager Brendon said: “After working hard to prepare the store for its launch, we were thrilled to open our doors at Interchange Retail Park this morning. There were crowds of shoppers at the opening, all eager to see what the new store has to offer.
“We’re confident that our quality offering, along with our in-store Bakery and 50-seat Café, will appeal to locals, as well as those from the surrounding areas, and the store is a great addition to Interchange Retail Park. I’m looking forward to welcoming more new and familiar faces through our doors in the coming months.”
The Foodhall is open between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday and from 11am to 5pm Sundays.
