A beautician from Kempston won a national competition to meet a British Hollywood actor.

Vivienne Isa, 25, who runs Beyond Beauty beauticians in Bedford, won a contest to meet Tom Hardy who has appeared in more than 30 films including Layer Cake and Black Hawk Down.

She said: “Myself and a friend had a great time meeting Tom Hardy at the premiere of his new film Locke in Birmingham. We were on the red carpet and we asked him to take a picture of us.

“He said: ‘Of course’ but then pretended to walk off with the phone!

“He was really nice. My favourite film of his is The Dark Knight Rises as he’s a good actor and he also looked really cute in it.

“We also went to a private screening and then the after-show party. It was great. There were lots of celebrities there including Danielle Lloyd and UB40.”

The competition organisers asked people to send in a self-taken picture or ‘selfie’ with as many people as possible in it.

Vivienne, who lives in Kempston, said: “Once I heard about the competition I literally burst into my local pub the Smith’s Arms and asked everyone who was in there to be in my selfie!”

Beyond Beauty is in St Loyes, Bedford.
