Second World War device to be detonated in controlled explosion

A controlled explosion will be carried out in a field in Bromham in the next few hours after what is believed to be a Second World War explosive was discovered.

Police have warned members of the public not to be alarmed if they do hear an explosion.

The detonation is being carried out by Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers following the discovery of a possible Second World War explosive device in Village Road.

Police received reports shortly after 11am this morning (Monday) that a military device had been found in a garden.

Roads including Stagsden Road, Molivers Lane, Grange Lane and Village Road were closed to allow police enquiries to be carried out.
