A school in Sharnbrook is celebrating winning cash for sports equipment following the BP Green Lights All The Way campaign run by the T&C.
John Gibbard Lower School, who are the lucky winners of £3,000, won the prize following a huge public vote through the newspaper, and at www.bedfordtoday.co.uk
Headteacher, Sheila Kaznowski, said: “We’re just thrilled to have won this prize and thank you to everyone who voted for us.
“The £3,000 prize fund will make a huge difference to the school and all our pupils.” We asked readers to nominate deserving schools in Bedford and the surrounding areas.
Natalie Cattermole, from BP, said: “It’s been fantastic to see such a positive response to this campaign.
“It certainly seems that John Gibbard Lower School, Sharnbrook, with its love of sport, will really put the £3,000 worth of sports equipment to good use – and we hope the school children really enjoy the opportunities it will give them.”
The winner was decided by public vote from a shortlist based on judging criteria published during the campaign.
The competition was part of BP’s Green Lights All The Way campaign to give the green light to communities.
