Royal visit scheduled for November

HRH Sophie Wessex due to come to Bedford in November

The Countess of Wessex will visit Bedford in November to honour a charity for Multiple Sclerosis sufferers.

HRH Sophie Wessex, wife of Prince Edward, will visit the MS Therapy Centre in Barkers Lane, Bedford on November 25.

She will present the charity with the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

Valerie Woods, Centre Manager said: "We are thrilled to be having a royal visit and to receive the award.

"We are truly a self help organisation and to us the award is the equivalent of an MBE."

The Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire MS Therapy Centre has been in operation for 26 years and is run entirely by volunteers some of who have the condition themselves.

The centre provides medical support and councilling as well as alternative therapies such as yoga, pilates and reflexology.
