Royal British Legion village branch commemorates outbreak of the First World War

Marston Moreteyne Royal British Legion will be holding a service in St Mary’s Church on Sunday, August 3 starting at 10am to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War.

The organiser have put together a display in the church which tells where and when the men on Marston Moreteyne war memorial lost their lives.

There will also be on display the 1911 census showing where these men lived in the village and their family members.

A special invite to this service is extended to any descendants of men whose names appear on the memorial to join in the commemoration.
