Robbery at newsagents in Chiltern Avenue, Bedford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at McColls Newsagents in Chiltern Avenue, Bedford at 5.15am on Sunday, December 14.

The shop manager was bringing in the Sunday newspapers when she was approached by a man who threatened her with a knife before forcing her into the rear of the store.

The offender forced her to open the safe and put the stolen cash into a grey holdall before leaving the store.

The offender is described as a white male in his thirties, about six foot tall, well built, wearing dark clothing and a stocking over his face. He was wearing a black hat, black scarf, black clothing and thin black gloves. He may have had long blonde hair.
