Residents invited to air views on their local chemists

Bedford Borough Council is consulting on pharmaceutical service needs in the area and residents are invited to have their say.

PNAs are used by the NHS to decide whether to approve applications for new pharmacies and it is used by commissioners to identify local health needs that could be addressed by pharmacy services. Anyone who uses local pharmaceutical services, e.g chemists, is encouraged to comment on a draft PNA by completing an online survey.

Cllr Colleen Atkins, Executive Member for Adults’ Services at Bedford Borough Council, said: “We want residents to have their say. Users’ views and opinions are vital in helping to form the recommendations and ensure that good quality, cost-effective pharmacy services are delivered to residents.”

The consultation is open from 15th October - 15th December 2014 and can be found online at . Alternatively, residents can call in at their local pharmacy, GP surgery, Library or Council Office to view the Executive Summary and collect a survey.

Full printed copies of the draft PNA, and versions in another format or language are available. Please contact 01234 276874 to receive one.
