Pupils at Willington Lower School arrived back to the first day of term to find a ‘staged’ crime scene on their playground - large animal prints, an axe and a fur coat were among the evidence left behind.

With the help of a team of police community support officers and a scenes of crime officer (SOCO) they spent the morning learning how to collect evidence, examining the clues and solving the crime, during their Creative Curriculum project.

The years 1 to 4 pupils got involved by guarding the scene, taking photos, putting on protective clothing and sealing evidence in bags.
