Plans have been drawn up to relocate a post office and keep it open for longer.
Trading would be extended by 47.5 hours a week under the changes which will see the Sharnbrook branch move to Nisa Local in High Street.
It is part of the Post Office’s ‘local’ concept, which sees services offered at shop till counters rather than at separate screened counters.
The proposed site is 170 meters from its current Church Lane base and would be with the current postmaster’s agreement.
If it goes ahead the branch will be open Monday to Saturday from 6am to 7.30pm and Sunday from 7am to 3pm.
A public consultation inviting people’s views on the move is running until January 26.
