The post office in Ampthill is to be modernised in a refurbishment scheme and reopen seven days a week.
A newly modernised main branch will re-open at Ampthill Post Office, at McColls in Church Street, on Monday, November 24.
The new service will be provided from three modern counters and will open for an extra 32 hours each week.
These include the post office opening from 6am until 6pm Monday to Saturday, and Sunday 7am until 1pm.
The branch will close for refurbishment on Thursday, November 13 at 5.30pm – however, the retail store will remain open.
Alternative branches during this closure period include Flitwick Post Office, 9 Station Square, and Houghton Conquest Post Office, 35 High Street.
Dave Thomas, chief operating officer at McColl’s Retail Group, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming customers to our newly refurbished Ampthill Post Office, which will offer a wide range of Post Office services alongside our extensive retail offer.
“As a convenience store operator we are always looking for ways to make life easier for our customers and the additional Post Office services will be available for the full opening hours of the store in order to provide an excellent service for the local community.”
The post office offers a range of services including Moneygram, buying holiday money, insurance, mortgages, savings and mobile top ups.
